Mark and Maxine wanted to carry out a complete refurbishment to a newly bought property which was in need of updating and modernisation, including extra space, as the overall condition had not been maintained by its previous owners. The aim was to create a lovely family home which would almost double the original floor space and increase the property value.
We had to completely strip out the property, and we removed various inner walls to create a far more open plan living space. With projects such as this, there is always a great deal of structural change required, so we took the client through various options and allowed them to be completely happy before this phase of the work commenced.
With the double side extension, its roof would be incorporated with the existing roof, which would be re-tiled to ensure that the home had wonderful uniformity.
We found that throughout the project, new ideas had materialised from the client as they saw their home take shape. We were more than happy to adjust plans to cater to their needs. For example, one of the new rooms went from being a childrens play room to a home cinema, which required a complete redesign of things such as electrics. We also adapted a flat ceiling to a vaulted ceiling in the master bedroom mid-project,following additional consultation with the client, and this worked out to be one of the standout features of the property.
Mark and Maxine’s comments on the project:
Absolutely over the moon with the result; the boys worked wonders, and we couldn’t thank them enough.
